Who is @thatbarefootcoach?

My name is Heidi and I’ve been on a winding path in the fitness world for over 12 years and an athlete my entire life. From competitive dance, to half marathon running, to powerlifting, to barefoot training, to functional training—my experience is diverse and unique.

Movement integrity from the ground up is the foundation of my work.

Integrity is “the quality of being honest” and “the state of being whole”—so movement integrity is honest movement throughout the whole body. And of course, from the ground up means starting at the feet.

The feet are our one point of contact with the ground. Everything starts with the feet. I learned this the hard way from breaking my foot at the peak of my dance career and suffering for years with overuse injuries without realizing my foot was the root cause.

While most know me as @thatbarefootcoach, the feet are just the beginning. It’s always my goal to get the feet strong and conditioned so that we can build a strong and conditioned body up the chain. The feet influence the rest of the body and vice versa.

Everything is connected.

I work with athletes of all levels that want to improve their movement integrity and prevent injury in the long run. It is my goal for you to have longevity in your sport and do what you love for as long as possible.
